The Origin of Champex™

Many people are troubled with mouth, body and faecal odours. With this in mind, Mr. Tadao Hamaya, president of Ricom Corporation began his search for an effective deodorant agent for such unpleasant odours in a safe and ordinary foodstuff. Through extensive ongoing experimentation with a variety of plant extracts, he discovered that Champex™, an extract of Champignon mushrooms, was highly effective in eliminating a variety of unpleasant odours. Motivated by this breakthrough discovery, he went on to develop an efficient extraction method and refining process for Champex™. Ricom now holds patents in Japan, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA, Canada and Korea for both the raw materials and the production methods. As a functional foodstuff, Champex™ is now exported widely throughout the world.
