Each of 63 female college students was given a candy containing Champex after they had eaten a meal of barbequed garlic-seasoned meats. A test was then carried out to determine whether any garlic smell remained in the mouth. In response to a questionnaire survey, about 90% of the students stated that the bad garlic smell in their breath was reduced noticeably after taking Champex.
